“Not too quick”.
Dave held Tsotsoo’s zipper and winked at her in the mirror. He kissed her on the neck and laughed heartily.
“Did I ever tell you I prayed twice harder before I proposed than I did to enter the final class list for my masters?”
“You never could have said it that night. Your nervousness was so obvious but not to worry I’m the only one who really saw it.”
“I would have been surprised if you didn’t since it takes only eyes like yours to read anxiety through a well furrowed brow and a very large smile.”
They both laughed.
Dave led Tsotsoo to their bed and knelt before her.
“Before all the overwhelming struggles start, my annoying snores wake you, you feel I’m not listening enough and you want to sleep alone in the guest room, I want you to know you are the answer to my prayer and more. I prayed for a wife definitely shorter than me…”
Tsotsoo rolled her eyes.
“We haven’t settled that yet. An inch isn’t definitely shorter.”
Dave made a face.
“…, playful just like this, overly worried when I’m just stuck in traffic and one whose heart is after the Lord more than it would ever be after mine and He gave me you plus the cutest frown I’ve ever seen in my life.”
“I’m not tearing up Ofio.”
Tsotsoo looked away and whiffed.
“You don’t have to be too strong. You know osum)me”.
Dave teased, sat on the floor and rested on her laps. He wasn’t in a rush. She was already his and he would take in the moment before she was bodily also.
He closed his eyes and exhaled. He wanted to remain crouched at her feet always, yielding to her comfort till the Lord decides which of them to be home with Him first. He would love her till forever comes.
*Osum)me – You love me.
